Mobapi at the UAE-France Energy Days in Abu Dhabi.
On 22 November 2022, after a day of meetings in Abu Dhabi, buses took the French delegation to Ruwais. The programme allows three hours for the journey. The next day, the second day of the UAE-France Energy Days was held there, in the town that is home to the refining and petrochemical complex. For a company that monitors sites far from their teams, the road sums up the subject rather well.
Business France organised this sixth edition with CCI France UAE, under the patronage of the French embassy in the UAE and of ADNOC, Abu Dhabi’s national oil company. The idea: to bring together, for two days, ADNOC, its subsidiaries and a delegation of French energy companies. On the programme: plenary sessions, themed presentations and business meetings with the ADNOC group’s operational teams, first in Abu Dhabi, then in Ruwais.
The themes covered oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, nuclear and hydrogen, with room for automation and digitalisation. The aim of the meetings: to help ADNOC make its operations more efficient.
On our table.
Vincent Reboul represented Mobapi there. On the stand: a roll-up banner, a laptop, a Mobapi.BOX and a brochure. In the delegation’s booklet, our page opens with one line: monitoring energy at remote sites and bringing the data from industrial equipment together in a single view.
We presented the system as non-intrusive: it works with the equipment and sensors already in place, old and new alike, whatever their manufacturer. As for operator rounds, they are done on a mobile app.
What this environment demands.
Oil and gas raise questions we know well. Scattered equipment, far from the teams. A control network that must stay isolated. And, as elsewhere, a fleet made up of several generations of equipment.
The Mobapi.BOX was designed for just this kind of environment. It connects to what is already in place and reads each piece of equipment in its own protocol, read-only by design: it sends no commands. At a remote site, it runs over 3G/4G and keeps months of measurements if the link drops. Round readings, entered on a phone even with no network, join the same dashboard as soon as the network is back. Oil & gas players are in fact among those who have approached us.
