A developer on the team named Jeune Talent de l’Outremer.

On 17 January 2018, at the Palais d’Iéna in Paris, CASODOM presented the prizes of its Talents de l’Outremer competition. Among the winners: Lenny Halley, the first developer in the Mobapi story.

An unusual path.

Lenny Halley joined Bitwip, a communications agency, in April 2014 as a developer, on the internship for his DUT technology diploma. Trained in networks and telecommunications, he discovered web development there, something that has appealed to him since secondary school.

He went on to a vocational bachelor’s degree, splitting his time between his studies and the agency, and started working on Mobapi, in its early days a research and development project run by Bitwip. A few months later, Mobapi became an independent start-up, and he moved to it full-time.

In September 2015, he left his home territory for the first time, bound for Brest and Télécom Bretagne’s work-study engineering programme, with the support of the Collectivité territoriale de Guyane, French Guiana’s regional authority. Since then, still backed by Mobapi and the Collectivité, he has been alternating between periods of training in Brest and periods at the company in French Guiana.

The Talents de l’Outremer competition.

CASODOM runs this competition every two years to honour people from the French overseas territories with outstanding track records. The 2017 edition recognised 46 talents in two categories: Jeunes Talents (young talents) and Talents confirmés (established talents).

Lenny received the CASODOM medal in the presence of the French Minister for Overseas Territories and of the edition’s patron, a member of parliament and Fields medallist. It rewards a path that combines advanced higher education, strong professional progress and a clear attachment to his homeland.

A proud moment for him, and for the whole Mobapi team.
